My Last Results

I enjoyed this class. Learning how to do a podcast, video technology, and using google to work on a presentation was cool. Everything was very educational and different from any other subject in the field. Everyday was a learning process for me. Starting my blogger was ruff to begin with. But as I followed up with my assignments everything got simple. The most important thing to do in this course, is to do all of the assignments. I encourage every education major to take this course for future knowledge and reference.

Glut of Google can give you a virtual fever

Many say health status on the internet worries them and other say it is a great resource. I believe people who think it is a problem are the onces that take situations to far. The internet is not the doctor nor is it God. The internet is just another upgraded skill that fill us in on information. It is the people's choice to believe the information, but it is up to them on how far they take it. Nothing is written in stone that having a health problem on the internet will lead to death. To be honest,I believe the information on the internet is just another resource for people who are to lazy to go to the doctor or it is for the onces who want to look up information before they actually go to the doctor office. Therefore, if you are afraid of what you might find on the internet about your health, then do not search for yet!

New Media Literacies Project

Media is something everyone needs to deal with our society and functional in everyday life. New media has enhanced youngster's social skills and allowed them to become full participants in society. We still continue to develop an understanding of the digital world. Most new media have to introduce novels and unexpected kinds of social differences,subculture, and identities. Further more, as we progress in the future there will be more advanced media regardless of the situation.

The show explains how everyone needs to use those topics in many ways. I think that those words are put and used in everyday life. Society day incorporate by those words and allows people to further their learning ability.Yes, it is the 21st century skills that will be needed effective artist, citizens and workers. We as humans see the future advancing high.But when the 21st century arrive, we as humans will have invented something else for effective artist,citizens and workers. I agree with all of the skills,but my favorite one was play. Play allows people to interact with the environment and our surroundings. Also,with play people can open up to many variable to a solutions.

Richard E. Miller; This is how we dream: Part 2

At the beginning of part 2 was very graphic! When it first showed the whale, my thoughts were,what is that! Thank goodness the presentation went straight into another slide show! I love how he explain, how we educators should share our ideas as individual freely! I totally agree with that statement. If no one ever shared their knowledge then, how can anyone individual learn anything new. He explains how been open minded and freely sharing ones thoughts got him somewhere. Once again, I like where he going is with this statement,"We educators should share our ideas as individual freely". I also like the many ideas that he has explored! He has some really great ideas and thoughts!

Richard E. Miller;This is how we dream:Part 1

I like how he used his presentation and it was straight to the point. This assignment was the first that had a part of black history. I was amused when I watched the presentation. Yes,it did explain new technology,but this is what the class is about. But it had many other features in the presentation that fit alone with the new technology. What I am saying is that, this presentation used old to new technology in a different way then the other assignment.

IPods instructions,Duke University usage for IPods

I can not believe how this college got their students ipods! I would love for South to upgrade me with a new ipod! I am sure every student will strongly agree! Duke University is really cool in my eye sight, regardless if they are using the ipod for school reasons. If any college gave me an ipod I would respect it and do my assignment alone with other things!! Mainly this college gave information on how iPod usage was used in their environment. My understanding of the information I read,was that many students like the iPod usage at the college and thought it was very helpful for the benefit. The college students used it for communication, academics, foreign language and many more topics. Ipod was very helpful and used in many different fields at Duke University.

iTunes U

I think iTunes will be helpful towards students and teachers. iTunes is free to the public and provides many advantage to explore. People could use iTunes on their computer and many other divce that can be download. iTunes comes with audio and video that allows viewer to enjoy their view better. Students can watch lectures for an class assignment or for fun. Podcasting is for audio recording and vodcast is to record a video. Most students in Gholamreza Tashbin class like video recording better. Video record allows people to watch other people and students get to make their own video as well.

Many different University and musems use iTunes U for their source. That allows many to use iTunes U for different ways of usage. iTune U helps people learn more then they know about a subject. iTunes U allow people to download music,knowlegde and many more. U could benefit from iTune U in many aspect. Alot of things are been add on to iTunes U daily,so there will not be anything left behind.

Dr. Christie's Web Design Resources for Educators

This site will be great for teachers, because of many resources it has to offer! It gives teachers ideas and creativty to bring into a classroom. Allowing teachers to use different sources will bring them back to Dr. Christie's web design plenty of times. This design has animation,clip art warehouse,image paradise and tips to improve a website. I also read in this site where it has a link to add background to a object. I used color as my background in a presentation to show in class. The bakcground color kept fellow classmates entertain. Using background in a presenation will not only keep viewers entertain,but focused on the subject.

In todays society technolgy will be important in every teacher's classroom. Teachers will need a great site to fall back on for information and I think this site will make a big difference. This site explains steps very precise and accurate. I like how the site explains how to improve the little things that make a difference. Making one mistake on a page could turn the entire process into something very huge. Having a back up plan always make a difference in every matter.

"What I've Learned This Year" by Mr. McClung

This assignment had me thinking really hard about teaching! At first it really had me scared. When he started talking about getting the students full attention, had me on my pins and needles. Because when I tutored at Spencer Elementry it was hard to get their full attention for a while. But low and behold it all worked out for the best. I finally got the hang of things and got every students attention. But I know by having my own classroom it will be totally different! But I will take what I have read and do the best that I can, by teaching my students!

Randy Pausch's Last Lesture

I will admit, I did not want to watch this assignment. I thought is was to long and boring. I was wrong and I enjoyed every minute of it. Now, I will try to write four topics,but I do not know if I will remember it all. I will list the things that caught my attention and kept me focused.

1. I will start with his growing up experience. I like how his family really played a major role in his life. It seem as if his father new what was best for him. His father really kept him thinking and aware of things.I like how his parents allowed him to decorate his room with silver painting(elevator) and he painted the entire room.His college life seem interesting as well. Randy kept it real, by wearing his high school jacket to college. Most college students leave their jackets and school spirit shirts back at home. Unlike myself, I still wear my high school clothing to college. Being an opened minded child and student allowed him to achieve major success later in life.

2. Second, I will discuss his ability to work well with kids. To me, it seem he was one step ahead of his students. Randy stated,"giving students assignment that are hard will allow them to enjoy their lesson better." I like the internet usage with the students as well. The video of the students building a world for the rabbit was cool. I really thought that assignment was exciting. Exspecially,when the rabbit did not want the student to leave. He stated,"the students did not have to add that into the assignment",but I thought it was a great idea!

3. Third, I like his presentation. Through out his video,he kept the audience and myself very focused. He put on clothing,spoke very well,had a great slide show for a lot of topics and moved around in place. On most videos, people will be sitting in one spot are talking in the same tune.He did not stay on one topic, but he discuss many topics. A lot of topics were educational and I did learn a lot from this video. Just wait on a person,they may make many mistakes,but if you wait on them, they will show you the good side of them. He stated,"it might take them a while to get there,but just wait".

4. Fourth, he did not just talk about himself, he include people who help him get to where he is now. In some of his slides where students who achieve goals and plenty of his old bosses. The ending of this video was really great. I like how he showed honor to his wife for her birthday. At the very end of this video,Randy Pausch stated,"this show is for my children". He is a great person in general!!

I enjoyed this long video and very glad I decided to watch my assignment! I will take what I have learn and use it into my teaching field!

I could relate to most of these comments which were on different topics. Many statements allowed me to understand technology a little better. As I begin to read,their words and ideas sounds like my thoughts. I agree, that teachers could never lean to much. Everyday technology is being changed to a new form. Yes, it is important for teachers to learn about new technology. If teacher do not take the time out and explore new technology, who is going to teach the students. I know for a fact students will not lean nor listen to a teacher that does not know what he or she is talking about. Anyone can stand beside a board and teach,but can he or she actually teach with the proper method.

ITS NOT about the TECHNOLOGY

I understand your point of view and I also agree with you! I can relate to one of your statements. I tutored at a school before and the students were complaining about their work. The teacher said, I do not understand their problem with this assignment. I told her to try another teaching method. After that the students understood everything. Its amusing how a little effort by teachers can make a difference. Technology will be a waste of time if teachers do not put more effort into their learning abilities as well.

Michael Wesch: A Vision of Students Today

Yes, this movie did capture my college experience. I can compare my college life to this movie. i sit in class sometimes and wonder, am I learning anything. Most of the time I am receiving a text message or someone is calling my cell phone. Lately I have been turning my cell phone off. The topic about my neighbor paid for college and he or she is not even here. I have seen that happen a lot of times. We (I) need to realize that college is not going to wait on me and neither will I wait on college.

I do not want to be the college student that has been in college for years and years. I do believe wasting time in college is point less. Think about it, text messaging and answering the cell phone while inside a classroom is a waste of time. Allowing those things to happen will only set a person back and will not get them anywhere. I do not want to be one of those college students.

ARTICLE - Google Changing The Way We Think

As I begun to read this article, I totally agree. Using the computer might make someone feel slow. We (people) tend to fall back on a computer rather then use our brains. When an assignment is due,we head towards a computer, instead of using the resource that we already have. I would not call it slow, I would replace slow with new technology! Scientist or professors invent these equipment for usage, that is way people call it an upgrade. Everyday some kind of object is been studied to be improved. Its not computers alone but it is everything becoming new technology!

21st Century Learning Webcast

I really like the involvement they have with children. This is a great explain to use it states, they spilt into group and interact with pocket PC. But they also found out about new technology other then PC. It also explains how students use their math with the technology. Therefore, the technology was great for the students and teachers. However, technology is very important to use inside the classroom. Teachers made progress for all students to use the lab rooms for computers. A lot of hands on things were very important and useful in technology field. Technology function as tool, because students will know how to identify and approach technology in different ways. Because of all the information to be learn, this webcast explains how communication plays a major rule in the technology.

EdTechTalk-Women of Web 2.0

This cast is going to talk about online podcast. Listening to these people makes me want to travel. They explains how they got to view different student writing and things that involves technoledge.It explains different projects to search different games. They use it to search on twitter and blogger. Twitter and blogger is a great resource to use for learning as well. Some of this podcast I could not make out the words.I guess the volume was turned down in this record. I think she was explaining her two wilds of the week.

Kidcast: Learning and Teaching with Podcasting

This podcast has really great educational methods. It explains and gives examples to choose between video or audio podcast. He explains the examples very well. The best example to me was writing something then been able to show it in front of class. Showing in front of class would best work with video podcast. He examples that video podcast might be a little better then audio. Video give audience a chance to be involve with the podcast. Video is not for cutting down for time, but gives them a better view point. Video podcast has a lot of productive points that involves with it podcast. He also states that video podcast involves a lot of time in content into podcast.

I like this podcast. It explains the different kinds of steps the involves google doc. It gives viewers a better site on template, spread sheet, lessons plan,calender,syllabus template and forms. I do believe that podcast is a good information source for college students and high school students. Google doc is also great for teachers as well. This podcast explains how teachers could use google doc for progress report and different status report. As for the google doc, it allows students to keep up with their spread sheet and homework documents. But mainly this cite discuss the ways google doc could be a really great source for all teachers. The people in this site explains how its important to have a lot of choices in google doc process.

My Blog About Sir Ken Robinson: The Importance of Creativity

My reaction to this blog was very knowledgeable. Most professors talk about making money and receiving respect from students. Mr. Robinson, explain how children have so much more to offer then we expect of them. I really agree with his statement and phrase. In this society, students with disabilities have been looked over and forgotten. But what we (teachers) tend to forget is that every child is special in their own way.

I really like how Mr. Robinson told the story of a child whose learning experience is different from other students. Most doctors and teachers would have gave her medicine and said she had a learning disability. His main point of view to me was to get adults more aware of their younger ones. Just one wrong mislead would have kept that little girl from making a success out of her life.

I could relate to Mr. Winkle Wakes, waking up to a new environment could lead to a shocking reactions! First, there where wages and horse, now there are BMW and Lexus. Doctors that would come to the house and take care of you, now you have to set up appointment to visit a doctor. Schools use to have old wooden tables now tables are been made from marble. Everyday the world grows with new technology by the minute.

My reaction to this movie was exciting! I like that the world is getting new inventions. Think about it, if we all were living in the past times everyone would be hot and without electricity! I thank god the world has alot of new technology! I would get tired of riding horses and wages all day! To be honest, I really don't think i could survive those past tense days!

My reaction to Karl Fisch movie was actually shocking! The world has grown really fast with new technology. I also could not believe that China and India had those many babies in a day. Its amusing to see how computers are now the new television. Past technology has not been forgotten, it has been upgraded.

This movie allowed me to see how much time people put in with the world. Many people today have been complaining about no jobs. But new technology allows viewers to realize that thousands of jobs are on the way. Many students are now been prepared for the future,because of the new technology that is on the way. Been prepared will allow people to be up to date on the new skills and knowledge that will be needed.

I am currently attending University of South Alabama and Elementary Education is my major. I am 21 years old and November 7 is my birthday. I am the youngest child of six, three sisters and three brothers. I am from Millry Alabama where there is only one red light and a couple of stop signs. Millry does not sound fun, but there is peace, love, and happiness there.
